When L.A. celebrities need to briefly escape, they go to Palm Springs. And we imagine that any A-lister would be comfortable at this luxury hillside retreat in the Mesa neighborhood.

The house was designed in 1959 by Hugh Kaptur and is often recognized among Palm Springs’ finest examples of hillside architecture. The current owners have named the house “On The Rocks,” revamped it with modern luxuries and decor, and made it available to rent.

Travelers seeking a desert escape can book the house for a three-night minimum stay.

On The Rocks can sleep six people in its three master bedrooms, each with a king-sized bed. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows give the impression of sleeping outside, however guests have complete control of heating and air conditioning to combat the temperature.

While the kitchen, dining room and lounge spaces are all cozy, the most impressive spot for relaxation is the outdoor hot tub. Nestled in the corner of an infinity-edged saline pool, the hot tub has superb 200-degree views of the nearby mountain ranges and Palm Springs cityscape.

And when the sun sets and nature is no longer a show, guests can stay in the hot tub and watch a movie on the outdoor projection screen. There’s also an outdoor bar, fire pit, and restored vintage Orange Charmglow gas barbecue.

The house is available starting at $1,850 per night.
