Just stock this one amenity.
Successful Airbnb hosts know landing a booking is just the first step toward having a thriving rental business. What many might not know is that buying a hair dryer is the most economical way to make a few extra bucks every single booking.
According to a recent article in Quartz, Airbnb hosts who offer a hair dryer can charge an average of $10 more per night. It’s a step toward making your home or apartment seem more “professional,” like a well-appointed hotel room.
At Quartz’s The Next Billion conference, Airbnb cofounder Nathan Blecharczyk said “It’s a real pain in the butt for a traveler who wants [a hair dryer] to have to haul it with them.”
And though the tool may seem like a necessity to many, it isn’t always obvious—especially to men.
Other items savvy Airbnb hosts should add to their offerings: sharp knives, soft sheets, and cooking essentials like olive oil, salt, pepper, and vinegar.
