All we want for Christmas is her.
Pop star Mariah Carey will headline the annual New York City New Year's Eve Celebration at Times Square, the Associated Press reported.
With her holiday hit “All I Want for Christmas is You,” Carey has long been a staple at Christmas and New Year's celebrations, particularly in New York City.
“I am so excited to return to ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest’ and feel blessed to be a part of this year’s magical celebration,” Carey said. “I can’t wait to perform once again for my incredible fans as we ring in the New Year together live from Times Square.”
Carey will join Ryan Seacrest as he hosts the annual ABC special “Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve.” Clark hosted the show from 1972 until his death in 2012 when Seacrest took over as the sole host.
“He’s really done exactly what Dick did all this years,” the show's producer Barry Adelman told Vanity Fair. “He pushes us to always be fresh, current, and what’s the next big thing. It’s been an art that’s stayed constant the whole time, and I think we were very fortunate to come upon Ryan Seacrest.”
This year's event will also feature appearances from DNCE, Gloria Estefan and country singer Thomas Rhett, according to ABC.
