Whether you're vacationing, staycationing, or simply enjoying fireworks and an ice cold beverage, these celebrations will light up your social life.

If you will be in Dallas for the Fourth of July holiday, expect a set of lavish holiday events to entertain you over the weekend. Here are the three most explosive celebrations happening in DFW this year:

If you'd prefer to stay inside Dallas city limits, Fair Park should be the urban firework destination of choice. Although little details have been released about Fair Park Fourth at Texas' iconic home of the Cotton Bowl, rest assured you will get your mini fair fix. Traditionally, the day begins with games, rides, and concessions along the Midway. The day culminates with live entertainment followed by a stunning fireworks show once it gets dark. Get more details here as they become available. It usually costs people $5 to enter the Midway.

Just north of Dallas, Kaboom Town happens every July 3 in Addison Circle Park and serves as the Metroplex's most impressive fireworks show. Lasting 30 minutes, this show sets off 1,500 of fireworks that are choreographed to music. This event free features at airshow at 7 p.m., the fireworks at 9:30 p.m., and then a live concert by Party Machine at 10 p.m. Come hungry—because 180 restaurants will be there, cooking up their signature cuisine.

Prefer to be near the water on the Fourth? Travel the 25 minutes to Lake Grapevine Fireworks Extravaganza, and set up your blanket and chairs in one of the many lakeside parks or on the rooftop of the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center parking garage by 9:30 p.m. This free show goes on rain or shine and always draws a big crowd. Make a day out of your trip to Grapevine and visit Messina Hof Winery & Resort while you're there.

Many Dallas hotels put a lot of effort into their Fourth of July Celebrations—and that includes offering special rates. A standout each year that is popular with local staycationers is the Four Seasons Resort and Club, which throws an epic festival, concert, and 15-minute fireworks show that rivals any Dallas city limits celebration. Take advantage of the "Stars, Stripes, and Savings" package at the Omni Dallas and get 10 percent off a one-night stay, 15 percent off a two-night stays, and 20 percent off a three-night stay or longer.
