Australian airline Qantas announced Thursday it will offer a $135 discount on flights from the U.S. to Australia. That’s the current fee for applying for a new U.S. passport.

Stephen Thompson, the airline’s senior executive vice president for the Americas, said in a statement that Qantas wants to make it easier for Americans to visit Australia.

“Australia is in the top five destinations Americans would consider traveling to in the next four years, yet more than half the population do not hold a valid passport,” Thompson said, citing research by Tourism Australia.

According to the U.S. State Department, only 131.8 million Americans — roughly 40 percent of the population — had valid passports in 2016.

To get the airfare discount, travelers can go to qantas.com/passport and use the promo code PASSPORT. The offer is available to all U.S. citizens — whether they hold a passport or not.

The promotion is a celebration of the delivery of Qantas’s new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner earlier this week. The new Dreamliner jets will begin flying from Melbourne to Los Angeles in December. In March 2018, they will be used to fly the world’s longest flight, from Perth to London, becoming the first airline to fly non-stop between Europe and Australia.

With airfares to Australia seeing recent lows (Scott's Cheap Flights recently found round-trip fares from multiple U.S. cities starting at $745), right now is a great time to book a trip Down Under.
