Want to make a journey to Peru your first vacation of 2018? Right now, a number of airlines have slashed fares to the capital city, Lima, making it possible to fly to see the ancient wonder of Machu Picchu and the country’s other Incan citadels for $389 round-trip.

According to Scott’s Cheap Flights, the low fares are available between January and June, with additional availability in August, September, and even October on select routes.

Flights can be found with major domestic carriers and South American airlines like LATAM and Avianca — though the cheapest flights were on sale with American Airlines, and depart from Boston in January.

Travelers leaving from Fort Lauderdale can also score tickets under $400. Right now, nonstop flights are available for $395 round-trip.

For under $450, there are also discounted fares from Austin, Chicago, Miami, San Antonio, New Orleans, Syracuse, and Westchester, New York.

Flights from all major New York City area airports are hovering around $455, as are trips originating in Buffalo, Charleston, Hartford, Philadelphia, Portland, Providence, Raleigh, and Washington, D.C.

To find the cheapest flights to Peru from your home airport, use Google Flights’ low-fare calendar to isolate the cheapest departure and return dates. Then, search for even lower fares with a metasearch engine like Momondo or Skyscanner.
