Winter in Yellowstone, when the park is blanketed in snow and the buffalo and elk mince over the steaming crust of the geyser basin and the silence is complete, is a very exciting time to visit. The park has just announced its winter 2010 packages (available from January 3 through March 5) and they look like a terrific way to experience the winter magic. There are several different packages, ranging from active (skating and cross-country skiing) to wildlife viewing, so check them out and see if one lights your winter fire. Here's one:
