Summer is a time for lazy days at the beach and making a dent in your summer reading list. You could check out the New York Times Bestseller List or get a recommendation from a pal, but we found the books that have celebrities enthralled—ranging from memoirs and classics to new hits and cookbooks.

“First summer read,” wrote Kate Hudson on her Instagram, under a photo of her reading on the beach. “All About Love by Bell Hooks #SoFarSoGood.” Lena Dunham started her summer reading list with two books: Innocents and Others by Dana Spiotta and Giving Up the Ghost by Hilary Mantel. “Memorial Day hang with my girl gang,” wrote Dunham under the Instagram shot of her reading in bed.

Other celeb-recommended titles include the funny best-selling novel about fashion, The Knockoff, by Jo Piazza and Lucy Sykes; Kimberly Williams-Paisley’s book Where The Light Gets InAmerican Pharoah by Joe Drape; and Grace: A Memoir by Grace Coddington.

Check out what other A-listers like Drew Barrymore, Karlie Kloss, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson are picking up this summer. And if you prefer books that will inspire you to travel, click here for some of our favorites.
