There are many boutique and quaint as well as stylish, very modern and European-type small inns across the various neighborhoods of Chicago. Not just the Gold Coast Guest House, but the Lincoln Park Guest House is a very modern, lush and primo B&B that is just a short bit north of the Gold Coast house. This is a bit costlier, competing with the major hotels at $200 - $350/night, but there are also many many very nice, clean B&Bs and Inns all across the city. I highly recommend the LincolnParkGuestHouse.com, but there are many more lesser priced ones that can be found through the Chicago Bed & Breakfast Association. Google to find some hot spots in some of the outlying and very trendy, upscale neighborhoods.
