Comment on: (Article) World's Trendiest Airstream Hotels
While the Airstreams were always designed as purely travel trailers, after 20 years of living in these aluminum wonders, I would suggest that they could become an ideal solution to housing in congested areas. The US did this exact thing after WW2 when many returning vets lived in aluminum trailers. One suggestion that would make them more liveable would be a slide out to increase the width. Airstream has resisted such slide outs on all but their largest models. I believe that the extra width would increase the popularity of the smaller units in semi-permanent environments, which are sorely needed around the USA and other countries now.
