Floral Design Classes in Full Bloom at Hyatt Union Square New York
Floral design superstar Michael Gaffney has cracked “the DaVinci Code of flower design,” and he’ll be the first one to say it. If you’ve have ever marveled at professional bouquets and wondered why your own arrangements look so disorderly, book a spot at the pop-up Floral Design Classes at Hyatt Union Square New York.
Despite my insistance that my lack of coordination would prevent me from successfully placing, tucking, and wrapping two dozen roses and hypericum berries into an attractive English-style bouquet, even I walked away with a suitable replica of Gaffney’s perfect posies.
From now until September 13, guests and members of the public are invited to join Gaffney (the genius behind flowers shot in films directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman and starring Natalie Portman) on Saturdays for an afternoon of floral arranging.
Only $30 gets an intimate course with Gaffney and his unabashedly cheeky sense of humor, as well as all flowers and tools. Sip iced, minted chamomile tea and take note: Gaffney is full of tips for prepping flowers, arranging them, and making them last long beyond nature’s intent.
RSVP for the class to email@example.com.
