Big innovation can come from tiny tweaks—at least, that’s what Crowne Plaza has found as they designed their next-generation guest room.

Unveiled this week and launching in 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Midtown, the new rooms feature one smart tweak we wish the rest of the industry would think about adopting. In order to foster a better night’s rest, the brand is modifying their headboards to resemble cocoons, and setting the bed just away from the wall—during consumer testing, the combination revealed a 30% improvement in noise reduction. Not bad for both form and function.
