Excuse my flurry of posts but there has been a huge surge of late-breaking contests that I just had to share. All you need to do is enter:
Larkspur Hotels "I Need a Vacation Because!" Contest (closes Nov. 17)
Facebook fans of the Larkspur Hotels page can enter to win a two-night getaway to one of the Larkspur Collections’ eight hotels (one winner per hotel) in California and Oregon. Contestants must post why they need a vacation in 50 words or less. Entries will be judged on originality, creativity, humor, and substance, and from what I’ve seen on the Facebook page, TravelandLeisure.com’s savvy and creative readers have a pretty good shot. The prize includes $150 voucher for Southwest Airlines and a $100 to the hotel restaurant. Winners do not have to cover taxes or fees. Visit www.facebook.com/larkspurhotels to enter.
Air Jamaica's “Ticket-a-Day Giveaway” (closes Nov. 7)
There’s still time to win free tickets from Air Jamaica. The airline has been giving away one round-trip ticket every day since October 8th. Winners will have to pay almost $200 in taxes and fees but that’s still an average of $375 less than winter prices to Curaçao, $300 less than a round-trip flight to Jamaica, and almost $700 less than travel to Grenada (all AirJamaica destinations). In addition to the grand prize, executive class upgrades and lounge passes are also up for grabs. Travel, upgrades, and lounge passes must be used by June 15th, 2010. Travelers purchasing tickets or checking in for a flight will automatically be entered to win.
"Sydney Life Points Contest" (closes Oct. 31)
Australia’s New South Wales Tourism invites Americans to enter to win a week-long Sydney vacation via Facebook posts on the Sydney fan page. First, become a fan, then sign up with the official tourism website. Lastly, write a 30-word post on the See Sydney Facebook page explaining a favorite Sydney life experience. Two winners receive roundtrip airfare on V Australia Airlines (caveat: flights originate from Los Angeles); seven nights at the Sydney Harbor YHA (true, it's a hostel, but it's brand new—opening next month—and located in the historic harborside Rocks district); and five Sydney "experiences," including sailing Sydney Harbour and a seaplane ride. (Airfare and lodging alone comes to $1,600.) Winners will have to pay taxes estimated at $350, plus transportation to LAX Airport.
Sperry Top-Sider-SeaDream Yacht Club's "Caribbean Voyage" (closes Nov. 30)
The quintessential boating shoe, Sperry Top-Sider, is teaming up with SeaDream Yacht Club to give away a 7-night Carribbean getaway for two. SeaDream yachts have an almost one-to-one staff to passenger ratio and amazing dining on its all-inclusive ships. In addition, ten other winners will recieve five pairs of shoes. The winner recieves the all-inclusive cruise (valued at $12,800) and must pay for transportation to and from the departure point in the Caribbean as well as $350 per person in taxes ($700 total). Click here to enter.
