People are Outraged Over a Polar Bear Exhibit in a Mall in China

There's a brown-polar bear hybrid at Grandview Shopping Centre in Guangzhou, China, and people are not happy about it.

The attraction, named Grandview Aquarium, is promoted as a selfie opportunity for mallgoers. And the bear is not the only majestic animal you'll find at the exhibit: There are six beluga whales, five walrus calves, a wolf, and another brown-polar bear.

But one polar bear in particular has received the most attention due to a video (see above) showing the animal looking depressed while laying in the middle of the exhibit.

Photos of the other animals on display are also making the rounds, inspiring headlines like “Is This the Worst Zoo in the World?

A petition launched by Animals Asia back in March attempting to close the Grandview Aquarium has garnered more than 271,000 signatures.
