If you want to live out your own Icelandic fantasy every day—snorkeling! concerts inside of volcanoes! stunning aerial tours!—you can, while living on an actual glacier lagoon. According to recent news, there's a bit of land located on the famous Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon up for auction. Fell is an estate that's located on part of the lagoon that's privately owned—in fact, only 50 percent of the entire attraction is property of the Icelandic government. The rest of it is in the hands of the area's lucky, lucky landowners.
A dispute between landowners has called for a forced auction of the area, which will take place on April 14th. Fun fact: This dispute has been ongoing for 20 years. The Iceland Monitor reports that there's been interest from "several interested parties within the European Economic Area." Got some money you've been looking to burn on an unforgettable piece of land? Time to grab a ticket to Iceland.
