Neighborhood change is ubiquitous, but not too many people get to watch decades of updates in five minutes and fifteen seconds. “Yesterday’s Tomorrow—A Portland Journey” from video production group Uncage the Soul, shares side-by-side looks at current-day Portland, Oregon and black-and-white throwbacks to years past, all narrated by Katherine Livingston, a 100-year-old Portlander.

To get to the finished product, the videographers took inspiration from more than 5,000 historical images from the Oregon Historical Society. The team then took their own footage of the same spots featured in the original photographs. In the end, around 50 images made the cut out of 5,000 options. Check it out:
