The rapper had a tough travel year in 2006: in October he was arrested at Burbank’s Bob Hope Airport for having a handgun and some marijuana in his car, according to police reports. But that pales in comparison with the near riot he and his entourage reportedly caused at Heathrow earlier that year. When British Airways officials tried to boot him and his companions from a business-class lounge (apparently, some of the chaps were carrying coach-class tickets), a brawl ensued that extended to a nearby duty-free shop as the police tried to escort them away from the lounge. The group reportedly smashed display cabinets in the shop while also fighting police. “They were throwing the policemen around like pillows,” an airport worker told reporters. Riot vans were dispatched, and seven officers were injured—one with a broken hand.
Consequences: Snoop was released on bail after the Burbank incident and ultimately pleaded no contest. No charges were filed at Heathrow, though Snoop and his friends were banned from British Airways.
