Sure, Will and Kate helped shine a global spotlight on London, but even the royal touch didn’t help this city to a higher ranking. And of course, sky-high prices don’t exactly engender goodwill. But the Olympics do, and London’s hosting of the fast-approaching 2012 Summer Games should clear the fog and boost its score.
