T+L Reports: Roger Vivier

Long before Manolo, there was Roger Vivier, the man who invented the stiletto. In his day, Jackie O. and Catherine Deneuve swooned over the Fabergé of footwear's deliciously chic shoes. On the heels of a splashy store opening in Paris, Diego Della Valle (the guru behind Tod's and Hogan) is introducing the Vivier label (www.rogervivier.com) to a new generation of fashion mavens. With boutiques coming to Saks Fifth Avenue New York and Neiman Marcus in L.A., expect to see American women with a little French twist in their step.
