Visit Dream Destinations in 15 Seconds

Pacific Beachcombers

Diving off a cliff in Croatia. Tracking a leopard in Kenya. Watching Buckingham Palace’s Changing of the Guard. Some travel moments are made for video.

It’s easier than ever to put such thrilling travel experiences in motion—with a smartphone and a social media platform to share them. And if a picture is worth a thousand words, what does a video inspire? To get the conversation going, we asked Travel + Leisure’s Instagram followers to share favorite video clips from their travel adventures with the hashtag #TLMoment.

In 15 seconds or less, these videos take viewers to the heart of the action. One dispatches you to the back of a dogsled charging through the snow of Reykjavik, Iceland, while another puts you in the window seat as a plane descends into picturesque Queenstown, New Zealand. One especially intrepid traveler, @sobiasiddiqui, squeezed through a crowd of 100,000 to get a close-up of Pope Francis at the Vatican.

Other travelers chose to film tranquil moments. @elzbethst slowly pans to reveal Bali’s lush Batur Volcano, blue sky, and ocean, as birds chirp (#imnotworthy).

We’ve also enlisted T+L photographers, asking them to catch spontaneous moments on videos while on location for magazine shoots—from a sprint through the Taipei railway station to a rocking swing dance in Nashville.

Sometimes quirky, sometimes touching, always transporting, this growing collection of video clips captures the kinds of moments you keep talking about long after you’ve returned home. And at 15 seconds or less, they’re almost irresistible.

So go around the world on our video tour, and then share your own clips on Instagram, including @TravelandLeisure and the hashtag #TLMoment. You may just make our next video series.
