Valencia, Spain Les Troyens Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía (October 31–November 12). “La Fura dels Baus” translates loosely as something like “the ferret of the ravine,” but it’s the name of an avant-garde Catalan theater group that regularly offers provocative, beguiling, and wholly original takes on the opera and theater repertory. The still-new theater in Valencia, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, for whom money appears to be no object, is bringing them in to stage one of the most sprawling of Berlioz’s many sprawling masterpieces, with the tireless Russian conductor Valery Gergiev in the pit.
