The prolific career of Italian architect and designer Ettore Sottsass defies definition. But the 88-year-old's first U.S. museum exhibition, at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (www.lacma.org; March 12 – June 11), attempts to reel in his expansive oeuvre with 100 signature pieces, such as his 1982 sterling silver Murmansk fruit bowl, organized by medium.
