Change is afoot at the InterContinental London Park Lane (One Hamilton Place, Park Lane; 44-20/7409-3131; www.intercontinental.com; doubles from $505). The hotel’s famously swank site—between Hyde Park and Green Park, with regal views of Buckingham Palace—is now matched by its interiors. The property has just emerged from a $113 million makeover with 150 damask- and linen-swathed rooms and Neoclassical suites; the remaining 297 will open by March, along with a 2,025-square-foot Elemis spa. There’s a knockout lobby by fledgling London design firm J2, and chef Theo Randall dishes up Cornish crab and sea-kale salad with Amalfi lemon at his namesake Italian restaurant—adding some new flavor to London’s tastiest location.
