T+L Reports: Berlin's Artsy Boutiques

Like this article?

The recently opened Corner Berlin (40 Französische Strasse; 49-30/2067-0950; www.thecornerberlin.de) emporium in the city's historic center is not quite a gallery—though it's certainly curated like one. The owners, a former movie producer and a cosmetics executive, hand-selected all the goodies: Ugo Cacciatori jewelry, clothing by little-known international brands like Thom Browne, and beauty products from Ren. Nearly everything in the 3,000-square-foot shop—including the monthly CD compiled by local electronica DJ's—is sold exclusively here in Germany. Nearby, in Mitte, Konk (15 Kleine Hamburger Strasse; 49-30/4365-9667; www.konkberlin.de) has taken over a massive new space and filled it with the energetic installations, edgy leather satchels, and geometric prints that have made it a cult favorite in both Berlin and Tokyo, where the owners just unveiled an outpost.
