Eco-conscious living just got a boost in old Blimey. The Taos, New Mexico–based designers of self-sustaining, low-cost dwellings that don't emit carbon by-products are breaking ground on the Brighton Marina Earthship Development (www.earthship.co.uk; from $450,000). The community of modern two- and three-bedroom houses along the English Channel will be built using cedar, glass, and roughly 15,000 reclaimed tires.
