Get Your Mexican Paletas Here
TREATS These aren't Popsicles. Popsicles you outgrow. These are paletas. (pah-leh-tas). They hail from Michoacán, Mexico, though you can now find them in Mexican neighborhoods across the U.S. Look for storefronts or sidewalk carts marked Paletería La Michoacana, then take your tongue on a tropical vacation. Paletas are rustic and sophisticated: sweetened milk, cream or juice studded with nuts or fruits (such as kiwi, pineapple, mamey, guanabana, tamarind, banana). Feeling brave? Try mango con chile: frozen heat. Brain freeze? Bring it on!
