Get Your Mexican Paletas Here

TREATS These aren't Popsicles. Popsicles you outgrow. These are paletas. (pah-leh-tas). They hail from Michoacán, Mexico, though you can now find them in Mexican neighborhoods across the U.S. Look for storefronts or sidewalk carts marked Paletería La Michoacana , then take your tongue on a tropical vacation. Paletas are rustic and sophisticated: sweetened milk, cream or juice studded with nuts or fruits (such as kiwi, pineapple, mamey, guanabana, tamarind, banana). Feeling brave?Try mango con chile: frozen heat. Brain freeze?Bring it on!
