T+L Reports: City Sounds

World music just got a lot more sultry with the release of "City Series: The Sex, the City, the Music." The CD collection, created by Sydney-based Petrol Records (www.petrolrecords.org), features top indigenous dance music and global grooves from destinations such as Berlin, Tokyo, and Istanbul. As a bonus, the liner notes include a mini-city guide compiled by residents and celebrity DJ's, listing local haunts—hotels, restaurants, bars, and, yes, record stores.
