T+L Reports: Sydney on the Rocks

Like this article?

It takes 70 dips in frigid water to become a member of Sydney's Bondi Icebergs Winter Swimming Club. But you can take advantage of the scene without even getting wet. The Icebergs, a Sydney institution since 1929, recently built a five-story Modernist headquarters (price tag: $6 million). The main attraction is the Icebergs Dining Room & Bar (1 Notts Ave.; 61-2/9365-9000; dinner for two $94), where Maurice Terzini—from Otto Ristorante Italiano in Woolloomooloo—serves mod Med (sea salt-encrusted rib eye) to members and non-members alike. Come summer, the sizzling bar, with views of Bondi Beach, is sure to be the hottest place under the sun.
