Sadler's Wells Theatre (44-207/863-8198; www.sadlerswells.com) in London provides the setting for stagings of two iconic ballets. In a rare U.K. visit, the Ballet Nacional de Cuba performs Giselle (Aug. 1821), a classic story of selfless love. In his latest production of Highland Fling, choreographer Matthew Bourne reworks the tale of a Scottish groom besotted with a mysterious sylph—his take on Les Sylphides. The club culture of present-day Glasgow forms the background for lads in kilts and the sensual spirits they pursue (Aug. 26Sept. 3).
