T+L Reports: Show Me the Monument

From October 2005

Four Japanese national landmarks, including Kodai Temple and Nijo Castle, openpreviously restricted areas to the public for the first time during "Kyoto Art Walk: Protected Space and Contemporary Art" (Oct. 21–Nov. 3; www.kyotoartwalk.org). Ten international artists created site-inspired installations just for the occasion.
