This month, Harrods (www.harrods.com) launches By Appointment, the first über–high end personal shopping service in Britain. Big spenders are granted special access to everything in the London store in a dedicated 1,550-square-foot space. Although By Appointment is complimentary, those prepared to flash some serious cashare courted vigorously through invitations to exclusive events and transportation in a chauffeur-driven vintage Rolls-Royce.
