In London, up to four kids under 11 who are accompanied by an adult can now ride free on the London Underground after 9:30 a.m. on weekdays, and during all hours on weekends and public holidays. Better yet, children under 16 ride for free on all London buses.
From June 1 to September 15, Canada's nationwide VIA Rail system (888/842-7245; www.viarail.ca) will allow every paying adult to bring one child under 11 for free, provided they travel together.
Instead of driving between the northeast and Florida, consider Amtrak's Auto Train (800/872-7245; www.amtrak.com), which shuttles cars and passengers daily between Lorton, Virginia (near Washington, D.C.) and Sanford, Florida (just north of Orlando). Through September, each adult who buys a regular fare (from $125 one way with car, including meals) can bring along two children ages two to 15 at no cost.
