T+L Reports: Riviera R&R

When boutique hotelier Jocelyne Sibuet, owner of Les Fermes de Marie in the French Alps and Provence's Bastide de Marie, opens a new property, style hounds snap to attention. Her latest project, Villa Marie, nuzzles a silent park of leggy pine parasols in the town of Ramatuelle (which the smart-money set has always preferred to its clamorous neighbor, St.-Tropez). The 39 guest rooms are washed in warm pastels and furnished with Florentine antiques; a spa performs next-generation facials with semiprecious stones from Arizona. Every remaining detail celebrates the Mediterranean basin, from the meandering turquoise pool, to the apricot bruschetta served in the restaurant, to the views, which extend beyond vineyards to the Baie de Pampelonne—home to the most famous, and raciest, beaches in France. Villa Marie, Rte. des Plages, Chemin Val de Rian, Ramatuelle; 33-4/94-97-40-22; www.c-h-m.com; doubles from $434.
