Sarasota, FL There might not be trapeze artists, clowns, and ringmasters, but Sarasota is still anticipating the next greatest show on earth. The inaugural Ringling International Arts Festival—a partnership between the Baryshinikov Arts Center in New York and the Ringling Museum, on the 64-acre estate of circus legend John Ringling, presents world and U.S. premieres from renowned and emerging performers: legendary director Peter Brooks stages Love is My Sin, a dramatization of Shakespeare sonnets; the New York-based experimental theater company Elevator Repair Service reinterprets Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises, and Israeli choreographer Deganit Shemy offers the full-evening dance work Arena, commissioned by the festival.
