It’s like the Amazon Prime of dinner reservations.
Since it launched in the spring of 2014, diners in the know have used Table8 to score last-minute reservations at hot restaurants—even if the person who answers the phones swears the place is booked solid for months.
Table8’s app lets diners buy a seat at a sold-out restaurant for about $20 per reservation, a particularly useful service for frequent travelers who want to optimize meals out in new cities or to make the best of travel surprises. (Have an unplanned layover in San Francisco? Use the app to score a last-minute seat at the Slanted Door.)
And now Table8 has unveiled a new dining club to help hungry members gain access to the most coveted culinary events and restaurants across the country. Members pay a $95 annual fee for unlimited free reservations at all Table8 restaurants, including access to seats at a group of highly coveted restaurants that are not usually available on the app. Other membership perks include priority seating and invitations to one-of-a-kind pop-up dining experiences. Though the membership program is just getting underway, preview events included tantalizing offerings like a sneak peek at buzzy new Miami spot Alter and an intimate rooftop meal at the home of chef Ricardo Zarate, whose modern take on Peruvian cuisine has earned national acclaim.
Table8 is currently operating in seven cities—San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Miami, Chicago, Atlanta, and New York—with plans to expand to more. Gift memberships are available.
