How to Make an Album

Return to main article

Old-fashioned photo albums may soon be as obsolete as 8-Tracks. With the new custom software, you can upload images and design your own coffee-table books of picture-perfect quality. Shutterfly's Memory Book (shutterfly.com; $55) allows ample space for anecdotes and in-depth descriptions to document your adventures; customize the cover and spine to create the feel of a published book. Kodak prints its sleek leather-bound Legacy Photo Book (kodakgallery.com; $70) on acid-free paper, and Blurb BookSmart offers an affordable 40-page softcover option (blurb.com; from $13). Mac users can easily produce an iPhoto album (apple.com; $30) through the Apple iLife suite. —andrea boston
