Kepler Brooklyn Academy ofMusic (November 18–21). In the popular imagination, Philip Glass is a composer offilm scores and repeating minimalist patterns; but he’s also an eminent, and prolific, operacomposer, with a particular interest in scientists (Einstein and Galileo have featured in pastworks). His 23rd opera (according to his website) will have its world premiere in Linz, Austria(where the astronomer Johannes Kepler lived in the early 17th century) before coming to Brooklynunder the baton of one of Glass’s oldest friends and champions, Dennis Russell Davies.
