Popes, they're just like us!
While perusing AP-writer Nicole Winfield's reflections from aboard the papal plane—in preparation for Pope Francis's inaugural U.S. visit, of course—we came across this morsel of intel: The pope packs a carry-on!
It may not seem earth-shattering to the typical traveler, but according to Winfield, previous popes "never carried anything—much less luggage," so when asked about the contents of the black leather satchel on his recent trip to Rio, Francis said, "We have to be normal!"
"It's not the key to the atomic bomb!" he said. Instead, Winfield says the bag contained, "his breviary prayer book, his agenda, a book on St. Therese of Lisieux—and a very normal razor."
Amen to that.
