Just beyond the reef line, hungry Atlantic humpbacks travel quickly between their winter mating grounds in the Caribbean and summer feeding grounds in the north. The tropics have clear and relatively sterile waters that make it easy for breeding whales to spot predators—and afford travelers a great view.

Season: March and April.

Go Whale Watching: The Bermuda Aquarium Museum and Zoo sponsors its own whale-watch tours on research vessels.
