Next: Turks and Caicos for Kids | T+L Family

Like this article?

Of all the lavish resorts that have cut ribbons on the booming, easy-to-get-to Turks and Caicos Islands in the past two years, few are as family-friendly as the Somerset on Grace Bay, a Mediterranean-style, 54-suite property that opens this month on Providenciales’s best beach. The developer made sure the resort passed muster with her own five kids, who no doubt gave the thumbs-up to plasma TV’s and Xboxes and private outdoor hot tubs, as well as to the sandcastle-building lessons, telescope tower for stargazing, two croquet courts (one traditional, one an "extreme" version played on sand), and ocean-view swimming pool with a sweet underwater sound system. No word on who was given creative control over the playlist.

Somerset on Grace Bay, 649/946-5900; thesomerset.com; from $520 for a one-bedroom suite, activities included.
