Tori Spelling’s Inn

What's the logical career move for a former teen star?If you're Tori Spelling, it's taking your $800,000 inheritance and opening the four-room Chateau La Rue (877/451-2468; www.chateaularuebandb.com; doubles from $200) in Fallbrook, 100 miles southeast of Los Angeles, with husband Dean McDermott—and then airing all on a reality TV show, Tori & Dean: Inn Love, which debuted in March on the Oxygen network. T+L checked in with Spelling as she wrapped up her first week as an innkeeper.

Q: You call Chateau La Rue a "Bed and Bites," not a "Bed-and-Breakfast." Why?

I'm not about breakfast. I don't want to get up every morning and cook, so instead we offer small bites throughout the day, like mini caprese skewers at happy hour.

Q: How did you decorate?

B&B's, to me, can be totally creepy—so I went more the boutique-hotel route. We have Jonathan Adler accessories, Fresh bath products, and a "dream menu" with water pillows, buckwheat pillows, and five-foot body pillows.

Q: How will you retain any private life?

I'm used to dealing with fans; after some appetizers and cocktails, people get over it pretty quickly.
