On the northern tip of Santorini, Oia is known for some of the most staggering sunsets in the Aegean. Now there’s a suitably gorgeous vantage point from which to enjoy them: Mystique (30-22/8607-1114; www.mystique.gr; doubles from $765), formerly the Oia Village Hotel, which has been reinvented by Starwood’s Luxury Collection. The 16 suites and two freestanding villas have private terraces with open-air dining areas, teak daybeds, and panoramic views of the sea and the caldera beyond. Floors are made from locally quarried limestone, furniture is fashioned from driftwood, and beds are dressed in pure, unbleached cottons and linens. After taking a mountain-bike tour of the island (included), let a massage therapist work out those kinks with a session in your suite or on your terrace. Follow a dip in the infinity pool with a fruit shake at the Aura bar, or indulge in freshly caught lobster at the restaurant. From the property’s 150-year-old wine cave, the sommelier can serve up a 1988 Château Latour or a rustic local varietal—either one a fitting accompaniment to the end-of-day light show.
