Until recently, a visit to Peru’s Sacred Valley required a grueling five-day trek. Now, Peruvian ecotourism company Inkaterra has made the journey easier by opening two villas along the route. The guest rooms at Villa Sonia and Villa Berta are decorated with antique textiles and have fully equipped kitchens. Each also has a resident housekeeper-chef and a bilingual guide to lead excursions to the temple at Ollantaytambo and the terraced salt pans of Salinas. Three more villas are slated to open this summer. 800/442-5042; www.inkaterra.com; $150 per person per night.
