Day One: Play Crumpin-Fox (413-648-9101). Drive the spectacular, single-lane Mohawk Trail (Route 2 West) to Williamstown. Lunch at Robin's. Visit the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, at Williams College. Eat and sleep at the Orchards.
Day Two: Play Taconic (413-458-3997). Pick up Route 7 north to Bennington and stop for lunch at the Blue Ben Diner. Take the more engaging Route 7A north to Manchester. Visit the upscale designer outlets in Manchester Center. Check in at the Equinox. Savor a drink on the massive front porch or take a lesson at the country's only British School of Falconry. Dine at the Wilburton Inn.
Day Three: Play Gleneagles (802-362-3223). Take Route 11 east to L ondonderry, then go north on Route 100 (the "Ski Road") past Vermont's eighteen ski resorts. Eat lunch at Willie Dunn's Grill, overlooking the tenth fairway of the Okemo River Golf Club, in Ludlow. From 100, take scenic Route 4 east to Woodstock. Check in at Woodstock Inn & Resort, and eat dinner at the Jackson House Restaurant.
Day Four: Play Woodstock Country Club (802-457-6674). Take Route 4 west to Bridgewater Corners for lunch and a microbrew at the Long Trail Brewing Company. Continue on 4 to the Killington Ski Area. For peak foliage viewing, ride the chairlift to the summit of Killington Mountain. Go west for a late round at Rutland Country Club (802-773-3254). Dine at the four-star Hemingway's in Killington.
