Napa’s annual Festival del Sole is a summertime soiree packed with cultural events enticing to every festive gastronome. Now in its tenth year, it kicks off July 15, offering 12 days packed with concerts, festive dinner parties, dance performances, and schmooze-worthy vintner luncheons. With 47 events spread across various locations, we thought we’d help by picking out the highlights.

An aperitif to the main festival begins with a twilight music concert in Calistoga Ranch’s oak-studded hills by a private lake. Guests enjoy live music while hors d’oeuvres from Chef Aaron Meneghelli alongside specially selected wines from the Foley Food & Wine Society. We’ve got our eyes on Sunday, July 19, when Kevin Spacey joins the festival’s gala party for an evening of vault wines, dinner on the fairway, and Spacey’s own seductive vocals at Meadowood. Décor and dress that evening will pay tribute to Hollywood’s Golden Era.

On July 21, a vintners luncheon at legendary Charles Krug Winery, Napa’s oldest, whisks guests through the historic 1872 Redwood Cellar Tasting Room for sips of rare wines before lunching on the lawn next to the carriage house and vineyards. Some of the country’s top principal dancers from the San Francisco Ballet, New York City Ballet, and the American Ballet converge on the Lincoln Theater stage to perform sets from Don Quixote and Le Corsaire set to the melodies of cellist Nina Kotova, on July 24.

You can work off those wine calories with a few vinyasas at Solage Calistoga’s yoga in the vineyards session the morning of Saturday July 25. A full schedule of events and tiered passes are available at festivaldelsole.org
