T+L Reports: My Blue Heaven

Like this article?

Belgian tastemaker Boris Vervoordt is taking time out from the world-famous art and antiques business he runs near Antwerp with his father, Axel, to open Knai Bang Chatt, on the southeast coast of Cambodia. Eleven guest rooms in three seafront villas—the Blue House was built in the early sixties by Van Molivan, a disciple of Le Corbusier's—offer a dose of Vervoordt style, a cocktail of Art Deco and Modernist furnishings, and Khmer bronzes and ceramics. Guests spend days conked out on a four-poster bed directly facing the beach, walking through the neighboring rice fields, and wandering the resort's tropical garden, a lush sanctuary of orchids, ferns, palms, and bamboos. Phum Thmey Sangkat Prey, Thom Khan Kep, Kep City; 855-12/349-742; www.knaibangchatt.com; villa from $5,000, two-night minimum. —CHRISTOPHER PETKANAS
