This weekend, Morgans Hotel Group will launch their Creator’s Unconference: a series of workshops and panels developed in collaboration with General Assembly. The famously chic hotel brand and the educational institution are teaming up to present a series of weekend-long assemblies that will offer guests and locals alike the opportunity to network and to learn.

“The partnership is providing our guests and the local creative community the opportunity to meaningfully create,” said Morgans Hotel Group’s CMO, Alan Philips.

The event kicks off today with a keynote speech by Jenny Fleiss and a feast of beer and burgers. Rooftop yoga, a presentation on social media by Marcus Krzastek of VaynerMedia, and brand-building insights from ESPN and ABC reporter Darren Rovell, are other highlights from the schedule.

“Ten years ago, 3 out of 10 people considered themselves creative,” said Philips. “Now, [it’s] 8 out of 10. We want to turn guests into creators by giving them the knowledge and tools to manifest their dreams. We like to set our goals at a very attainable level.”

The Unconference series will continue throughout the year with a weekend in London and, in October, a stint in Miami. The team has set their sights on Los Angeles and San Francisco for 2016.
