The Museum of Modern Art is jumping down the rabbit hole with “Tim Burton,” the first retrospective devoted to one of Hollywood’s most imaginative and innovative talents. Opening November 22 and running through April 26 (timed to the March release of the director’s highly anticipated movie Alice in Wonderland), the show offers a look at storyboards, puppets, and costumes from Edward Scissorhands to Batman—some 700 objects. In addition, MOMA will be screening 14 of Burton’s features, plus a series of Hollywood classics that inspired him.
