Smart City Guide: Miami

C. Madeleine’s The mind-bogglingly huge warehouse is hidden away in the no-man’s land of upper Biscayne Boulevard. The obsessive owner, Madeleine Kirsh, has arranged the place like a department store, with sections dedicated to different eras. The roped-off designer zone is a trove of Pucci, Gucci, and more. 13702 Biscayne Blvd., North Miami Beach; 305/945-7770; cmadeleines.com

Fly Boutique It takes some patience to sift through the crowded racks at this late-night haunt in the heart of South Beach—but it’s worth the effort, especially for sweet little dresses from the 1930’s through the 80’s. 650 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach; 305/604-8508; flyboutiquevintage.com

Antique and Collectibles Market It’s almost worth planning your trip around this street fair on Lincoln Road. Stalls are crammed with a mix of antique jewelry, Midcentury Modern furniture, and remnants from Miami’s Art Deco heyday, like cigarette lighters and old movie posters. Lincoln Road Mall near Alton Rd., 305/673-4991; antiquecollectiblemarket.com; December 9, January 6, 13, and 27

Miami Twice Connoisseurs flock to Bird Road to get their fix of vintage Lilly Pulitzer, DVF, and YSL. The only downside: you need to ask to try on the high-end pieces, which are hung on overhead racks. 6562 Bird Rd., Miami; 305/666-0127; miamitwice.com
